Born July 29, 1918, in Victoria BC, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2010, at the age of 91. She is survived by William Gornall, her loving husband of 70 years. Lillian is predeceased by her parents Henry and Mary Fancett, and brother Fred Fancett. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Olive Mary Howard. Lillian leaves her sons Dennis Gornall (Judith Currie), and John Gornall (Carole Lukey). She will be remembered by her brother-in-law Fred Gornall; her many nephews: Robert Gornall (Wendy), Donald Gornall (Shelly), Murray Gornall, Roger Howard (Linda) Ted Gornall (Candis), Paul Gornall (Valerie), and Dr. Wayne Gornall; and her nieces Cathie Lefebvre (Murray) and Trish Hoffman (Mark). She will be lovingly remembered by her grandson William Gornall; granddaughters: Sandra Gornall, Dawn Potorieko (Chris), Shelly Gornall (Rick Dennie), Tanya El-Lakany (Hatem) and Laura Gornall; great grandson Trevor Potorieko; and great granddaughters Maya El-Lakany and Rianna Potorieko.
Lillian attended a variety of local schools including: Bank Street, Margaret Jenkins, Willows and Oak Bay High School (Commercial).
Lillian led a very active life and was involved in swimming, grass hockey, badminton, softball, golf and was a RCGC member. She also spent many hours at the Henderson Fitness Centre. Lillian had many hobbies, including sewing, knitting, needlework, bridge, square dancing and clogging.
Lillian worked in the BC Tel office before the Second World War.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2010, at 1:00 PM at McCall Bros Floral Chapel, 1400 Vancouver Street Victoria BC.
