I’ve been blessed to know and work with Linda for the past ten years, while she supported students as an IA at Camosun. Linda had a great sense of humor and an immense love of animals, and she was always happy to help when needed. She will be sorely missed by many. Our hearts go out to her family and friends.

I was so sad to read that Linda is gone. She was a special part of our Academic Upgrading Help Centre over the past ten years at Camosun College. I could call Linda at 6:00 am to see if she could cover for me and she would always say “Sure – just let me check the bus schedule!” She treated our students, often the most difficult ones, with compassion, good humour and fairness. Linda was there for me to sub as an Instructional assistant through my divorce, my mom’s cancer treatments (I never missed a chemo session thanks to Linda), and through two family deaths within a couple months. She would just say “go, go do what you need to – I’ve got this”. We shared a love of cats and when I recently moved into a condo with my old outdoor cat I went to Linda for advice. She was spot on and the transition was smooth. She ended every email with “pats to Timmy”. Linda always championed whatever course or project I was taking on and always asked and shared my excitement for my daughter’s achievements and milestones through high school and university. Her own excitement for the thoroughbreads and for baseball was infectious. This November I’ll order Chinese food from her favourite place up the road and watch The Breeders’ Cup in her honour! I love you Linda. xoxo. You were always there for me.
