Our Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma left us in the early hours of December 16, 2017. Ceda Lloy Olive McKinnon was born on November 1, 1934 in Edmonton to parents Brownie and Vee. Throughout her childhood, Lloy moved with her parents and brothers, Bob, Buzzer and Perry, to many communities in Alberta and B.C. where they operated restaurants and hotels. Lloy married Murt Allnutt on May 28, 1955, and they went on to have four sons. Lloy courageously moved to Victoria in 1967 and as a single mother enrolled in university and became a teacher. She proudly taught at Keating Elementary for 20 years. She later married the love of her life, Pat McConnachie, and they enjoyed many happy years together until Pat’s death in 2001.

Mourning Lloy’s passing are her sons, Rod, Rob and Dave; daughters-in-law Marlene and Cheryl; her brother Perry (Georgia); her nine grandchildren, Travis (Jade), Evan (Kendal), Emily (Dwight), Shane (Jasmine), Amber (Jake), Tyson (Tabitha), Kelsey, Courtney and Hayley; eight great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Isabella, Jackson, Hardy, Asher, Carter, Nola and Jayden; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lloy was sadly predeceased by her son Perry on December 16, 1996.

Mom was a very cheery, outgoing, friendly person, a great cook and an avid golfer. She considered raising her four boys to have been the most significant accomplishment of her life.

A Celebration of Lloy’s Life will be held at 2:00 pm on January 5th, 2018 in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Lloy was a beloved neighbour and friend. We were lucky to have Lloy in our lives. She was an active member of her community and could always be counted on to help others.

Even when she moved to James Bay and finally into a home where her needs could be met. It was a pleasure to visit her.

She will be remembered with smiles, love and gratitude.
