My children and I have missed you so much Lori since you moved back to Victoria to be near your mum, Adam and Cassey. You were a great friend and neighbor that I could always count on. Both my partner Dan and I recently moved to Victoria from London, Ontario. On my way home on the bus from work one day with Dan by my side – I got talking to the lady next to me. We automatically clicked and right away we figured out that we were very close neighbors. That was when I first met Lori – and when we made our first new friend. Lori took us under her wing and helped us get on our feet. She helped us find our first apartment in Victoria, she helped us get all of our furniture and she even gave us some food out of her own freezer so we wouldnt be hungry our first night in our new place. We had made a forever friend – and we were so grateful. Lori was always there to lend a helping hand or to listen when we were having a bad day. The loss of Lori came as a great surprise. We will always cherish the memories we had with Lori – and also with Adam & Cassey. She taught me how to bake my first apple pie and how to make the BEST meatloaf. She was like the mother I never had. Both Dan and my thoughts are with her entire family and especially her children. She loved you guys more than you can ever imagine. All that I know now is that heaven has gained an amazing Angel. We will all have Lori as a Guardian Angel watching over us for the rest of our lives.

Rest In Peace Lori – We Love You & You Will Forever Be In Our Hearts…..

    Love,
    Angie, Dan & Dora xo

  • Donna, Dan and Solon

We knew Lori from the Y OSC that Solon started at last year. We were so sad to hear of the passing of such a caring and dedicated person. Lori was so friendly and quick with a smile and had such a friendly manner about her.

Our thoughts are with Lori’s family and friends at this time. Lori will be missed.

  • Joe, Margare, Robbie and Jamie Newell

We were so very sorry to hear of Lori’s passing. We knew her from the Y, of course. Lori has looked after Jamie since she started at the Y and he has developed into a kind and caring little guy with her help. She was always ready to chat and laugh when we picked him up and dropped him off and it was always a pleasure to go into the room at the Y and smell fresh baking. She is missed by one and all. Our sincere appreciation for everything she has done at the Y and elsewhere and our condolences go to her family in this difficult time.

    Love Lucie

  • Diana Elliott and Jake Hardy

My heart sank when I heard this sad news. Lori has been with Jake since she started at the Vic West Y. Her laughter, smiles, humour, baking and of course love of children and even their parents was bar none. She leaves a great legacy in the lives that she has touched, especially Jake’s.

My heartfelt condolences to her fiancé, Adam Simms, sons Kevin and Kyle, step-daughter Cassey, and her family and friends.

Walk with the angels Lori, love will follow wherever you are.

On behalf of Kerrie, Linda and myself we would like to extend our thoughts and condolences to all of Lori’s family….. especially to Adam, his daughter and her beloved Tia.
It was always a pleasure to hear her stories and see all of her creative crafting (especially her love of miniatures) as we worked on the reno of the suite above them. Lori was always full of fishing adventures…. to say this is a shock for us all …. we can only imagine for all of her family.
Her kindness was evident , especially to the children she so loved.
We are grateful to have had the opportunity to share her smile.

I remember Lori as selfless and loving person who held utmost optimism in every stride. Her sudden passing deeply saddened me, knowing what a wonderful person she was. I wish peace for her and feel great empathy for family and friends!

  • Tracy Bulman

My daughter attends daycare at the Y and will miss Lori’s smiling face and warm personality. I was really touched when a couple of weeks ago, Lori brought an old toy from home that she specifically thought my daughter would enjoy (and she was delighted!). She will be missed.

  • Marlene and Dick Todd

Our deepest condolences to Lori’s Mother Pat and family. Words cannot express the sadness this is for them. Lori has gone to join her sister Debbie and Father Earl perhaps this will be of some comfort.

  • Shannon Lane

Lori, you influenced me in ways I can’t even begin to tell you. You helped me become the strong independent women I am today. You came into my life just when I needed someone the most. You always made me and my son feel loved, and we loved you. Thank you for everything! All my love to Kevin. Kyle, Harry, and Adam. You are in my prayers.

  • Rianna Earl

I am so shocked to hear this tragic news. Lori was such an awesome and amazing person, with the greatest sense of humor. And boy could she whip up a meal that would make a 5 star restaurant look like Mc Donalds. Kevin, Kyle, Harry, and everyone else that was close to her, my thoughts are with you guys. Love to all of you.
