With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Luisa da Silva, who left this world peacefully on October 21, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born on January 29, 1948, in Achadinha, São Miguel, Azores, Luisa lived a life filled with love, kindness, and quiet strength. Throughout her life, she touched countless hearts with her generosity, warmth, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. She found joy in life’s simple moments, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Luisa was the devoted wife of the late Antonio da Silva, to whom she was married for 28 years until his passing in December 1996. She was a proud and loving mother to her five children: Maria (Ed), Guiomar (Sam), Milton, Peter, and Pam. She was also a cherished grandmother to Melissa, Annie, Stacey, Allie, Anthony, and Joshua. Each of them carries forward her spirit, her stories, and the love she shared so freely.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of 4B South at Victoria General Hospital for their compassionate care.
A viewing will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Luisa’s life on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 4635 Elk Lake Dr, Victoria, BC. The Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. A procession to Royal Oak Burial Park will follow the service.
