KOVACS, Maria Magdolna passed away on June 13, 2009 at the age of 59. Magdi leaves behind her husband Charlie of nearly 42 years; her children, Erika and Charles and daughter-in-law Stephanie. A sincere thank you to all the loving and supportive friends, families and staff of the Jubilee Cancer Clinic and Victoria Hospice. Magdi’s warmth and generosity will always be remembered by everyone at home and the pharmacy. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Agency of Vancouver Island, 2410 Lee Avenue, Victoria, BC V8R 6V5 and Hospice would be appreciated.

I am sorry to have read of Magdi’s passing in the paper. She was a very dear friend of my mother Rose Soos (passed 2004). I always remember her beautiful smiles, warm hugs and thoughtfulness.
She will be forever missed.

We were shocked and saddened to see that Maria had passed away. What a blow to me and my family, as it surly was to the many other people who like us, looked forward to being served by such a wonderful and warm person at the pharmacy. We will miss her radiant smile and caring personality.

This world has lost a wonderful person.I had the pleasure of being in the same store with Magdi for many years and I always marvelled at her ability to affect everyone she met including myself with that wonderful,vibrant and caring personality that she had.She was definitely one of a kind.We are all the poorer for her passing.
