Valleau (Barr), Margaret Grace. Oct. 24,1914 – July 1, 2009. Lovingly remembered by daughter Myrna Barr (Cliff); sister Olive Carren; grandchildren Bill Molnar (Sue), Christine Molnar, George Molnar (Richard); great grandchildren Kaylin Molnar, Emerson Molnar, and many nieces and nephews. Born in Hoosier, Sask., Margaret arrived in Victoria in 1939 with her children Lawrence and Myrna, preceded by husband John Barr. She continued living in their much loved Cadboro Bay home until moving to Parkwood Court in 2003. Margaret made a difference in this world and is fondly remembered for her friendliness, genuine concern for people, and always present smile. The family is grateful for the caring attention Margaret received from all the Parkwood staff. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to your favorite charity.
A Memorial Service to honour Margaret’s life will be held at McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson & Vancouver St., Victoria BC at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2009 with reception and inurnment to follow.

Dear Myrna and family: I am Yvonne Wildman’s daughter (living
in Nanaimo). Mom told me just last night that Margaret had
passed away and she wanted to send you a card but couldn’t
remember your last name. So, I looked up Margaret’s name on-
line and was fortunate that this page came up.
I notice that Karen Valleau mentioned their family thought
Grandpa had married the queen – well our family always thought
Margaret looked and presented herself like royalty – such a
lovely lady. We were always so impressed that she had worked
    at the Empress Hotel.
I was able to visit Grandpa & Margaret a few times in their home on Cadboro Bay and she was always so gracious. She will be
    missed.
I will pass along to Mom that I have sent this message .
When you have time could you please e-mail me your home
    address. Thank You.

    Dear Myrna and Family,
There is a special place in our hearts carved out just for memories and with Mrs Valleau we had 24 wonderful years to build them as the children grew….they could always count on Mrs Valleau for a kind word of encouragement when they were learning to ride their bike without training wheels or roller blade on the street…..just recently at Parkwood she was asking me to bring her a picture and tell me how they were….she fell asleep before I could finish…..and woke up briefly later to tell me that she slept more and more….so I asked her if that was good and she said…oh yes, you know it’s time for me to go now….so Mrs Valleau it is with sadness that we see you go but you will be reunited with your loved ones as you used to say when I got there at the end of “church time” sometimes….
Myrna, we are sending you our deepest sympathy.
Most sincerely, Claudia, Matthieu and Jaimie Boyd

Mrs Valleau always had on a happy smile as I would see her walking up and down our road in Cadboro Bay. The positive ways she would see the world would make anyone smile. I remember her holding my arm and telling me how great things are….She will be missed.

As children we thought that our Grandfather had married the Queen – Margaret was always so very beautiful, gracious and kind. My Mom (Dina) always considered Margaret a very good friend and both my Mom and Dad appreciated Grandpa and Margarets’ presence at all the many family functions we had. To all of you left behind – “A chapter in your lives has ended – but what a wonderful read it was.”
