Mariette passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 93 years to be with her Lord. Born in Antwerp, Belgium in 1922, Mariette moved with her parents to South Africa and later to Amsterdam where she met her husband, Ko and had daughter, Mary and sons, Jack and Bob. The family immigrated to Victoria and had sons, Ken and Ed.  Mariette quickly came to know the First Christian Reformed Community, enjoying church and choir.  She also worked at the bible mission for 23 years.

Predeceased by her husband, Ko; her son, Jack and son in-law, Al, she is survived by her daughter in-law, Anne; daughter, Mary; her sons, Bob (Trinka), Ken (Karen) and Ed (Janet).  She is remembered by 5 children, 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great- grandchildren and family in Holland.

The service will be held at First Christian Reformed Church, 661 Agnes Street on Thursday, April 14 at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers please, donations can be made to the B.C. Cancer Foundation.

    Mom I admired your independence and determination to do and see as much as your body would allow. We spent many Fridays shopping and talking over lunch learning a new story each time. Under her firm layer was a big heart for others. She always told me how proud she was of Ken and the kids! I will miss you Dearly!
