October 3, 1923 – September 4, 2011

After a brief illness, Marjorie passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. Predeceased in 1988 by her husband of 45 years, Herbert Pierce; she is survived by her loving son, Russel (Joan); her grandchildren, Russel (Janette), Dawne (Mike), Philip and Heidi and six great-grandchildren. Marjorie was born on a homestead in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. At the age of 10, her family moved to Kelowna and in 1940, she travelled to Prince Rupert, where she met her husband, Herb. She was a life-long member of the Salvation army devoting much of her life to community and volunteer service through the Salvation Army League of Mercy in Edmonton and Victoria.

A Celebration of Marjorie’s Life will be held at the Salvation Army Victoria Citadel, 4030 Douglas Street on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Senior’s Fellowship. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.

    It is with sadnes that we read of your mother’s passing. We remember how kind both your parents were to Ken when he lived next door to your family. We remember too how kind your mom was to us.
