Passed away suddenly at Victoria, BC on 11 November 2010 at the age of 35 years. Born in Calgary, AB on 28 October 1975.
Survived by his loving parents Donna and David Henderson. Lovingly remembered by his sister Andrea (Alexandre) of Toronto, and his soul-mate and love of his life, Jennifer. Also remembered by his aunts – Patricia, Jan, Kim, Eleanor, Lorraine, Marilyn, and Chris.
Mark was warm-hearted, caring, and generous ~ truly valued by his many friends.
An electronics technician and horticulturalist by training, Mark had both a mechanical and creative mind. He loved to tinker with bicycles and cars, puzzles and word games. Most of all, Mark adored gardening ~ designing beautiful spaces rich with color and vibrancy. He felt absolutely at home in the outdoors, savouring long walks, night skies, camping, and building beach fires, no matter the weather.
We all greatly miss Mark, and hold him in our hearts.
A family service was previously held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Place, Victoria or the Salvation Army.
Condolences for the family may be offered below.

Daniel Remembering camping with Mark many times, once shortly after he started our fire(which he usually did). some students that had just graduated high school approached us and offered money to start their fire. We laughed and Mark refused the money and started the fire. That’s just the type of person he was. Love u n miss u bro

j Love is the voice under all silences;
the hope which has no opposite in fear,
the strength so strong mere force is feeble,
the truth more first than sun,
more last than stare e cummings

We can only try to imagine the loss you are all feeling at this time. We must truly believe that Mark in his short life time accomplished all that he was to do here on earth. We are praying for God’s peace and comfort at this time and in the weeks to come.

Sorry to hear of Mark’s sudden death. I am sure that the past few weeks have been difficult for all of you. Be gentle with yourselves, do take all the time you need to grieve his passing. Life will go on, changed from what it was, but it does go on. I have faith that you will find the strength to face the future. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Donna Lee David & Donna,
I am so sorry for your loss. I met Mark only once, but was very impressed with him.
I do remember the winter you came to Nova Scotia for Christmas and got a call from Mark and Andrea asking what to do about the snow piling up on the roof of the house.

Norna (Henderson) O'Brien Dave and Donna;
I know that life gets in the way of family keeping in contact and it seems the only time found to get together is at times when we lose someone we love. I didn’t know Mark and haven’t seen you, Dave, for many years, but I know the loss you are going through having lost my late husband, my step-son (22) and my dad all in less than two years.
God gives me the strength every day that I need to go on and I know you will find the strength also. Mark is with a lot of our family now and we will all meet again in a much better place.
My heart goes out to you for your loss and you will be in my prayers.

Patricia Henderson Dave, Donna & Andrea. What a wonderful job you all did under the most difficult of circumstances, in honoring Mark’s passing. The viewing, celebration of his life, reception & obituary were so beautifully done and so closely reflected who Mark was in his too short life.
I feel grateful and honored to have had the opportunity to celebrate his life and grieve his passing with you. I am also deeply relieved and glad that the pain of Mark’s earthly life is over.
Now it is up to us, both is his blood and self chosen family members to honour him and ourselves by living our lives as fully, joyously, humbly, courageously & truthfully as we are able. Mark would like that.
Bye for now sweet nephew; we will meet again.

Michelle This was a terrible tragedy that happened to Mark.
He did not deserve this at all. It’s such an unstable
world that we live in. I hope that he will rest in peace…
Condolences to the family & close friends who loved him!
