Mary Briggs Kersey – September 26, 1908 – August 10, 2007. Predeceased by husband Ray and sisters Helen and Alice. Born in Blackburn England, immigrated to Canada in 1911. Attended Lampson Street School and St. Ann’s Academy. Mary graduated from St Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1930. She worked as a private nurse and volunteered her services as a nurse. She was an active life long member of the Nurses’ Alumnae. Mary served as a co-ordinator and visitor for St. Patrick’s Church Ministry of the Sick for 24 years, retiring at age 88. She modelled in Victoria Fashion Shows and enjoyed painting in oils and watercolours. A life well-lived with great faith, family and many friends. Mary will be remembered with love and admiration by the many lives she touched, especially her family: Michael (Phyllis), Bryan (Joanne) and Dianne Zanichelli (Patrick), 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, a donation to Ho Missions c/o St. Patrick’s Church or to The Sisters of St.Ann, 2474 Arbutus Rd. or The Sisters of St. Clare’s Monastery, 2359 Calais Road, Duncan B.C., V9L 5V5 in Mary’s name would be appreciated.
