Born November 13, 1918 ~ died June 18, 2013

Born in Kincardine, and raised in Ingersoll, Ontario. After earning a B.Sc. at the U. of Western Ontario in London, she went to the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit for an M.Sc. degree in Medical Technology. She then joined the R.C.A.F. (1942-1945). After the war she headed west, where she became a lab instructor at the U. of Alberta Medical School, and met Bill. Married in 1948, they grew a family of Bruce, Andrea and Graham. Later she resumed her teaching, at St. Margaret’s School in Victoria, then at UVIC. She enjoyed many outdoor activities, and had a great interest in reading. She worked with Benny the Bookworm, raising funds for the Calgary Symphony, and then with Holy Trinity Church, where she worked on the library and book sales. As a writer, poet, and historian she has left us with a wealth of memories. As a constantly supportive and loving wife and mother she has departed too soon.

A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Church, 1319 Mills Road in North Saanich, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday June 25, followed by a reception at the church hall. The family would like to thank the staff of ECU2 at Saanich Peninsula Hospital and Beacon Community Services for their interest and care.
