Mary Knox Robertson (nee Oswald) passed away peacefully on May 28, 2016 at age 103 at Oak Bay Lodge in Victoria, BC. Her passion was travelling worldwide and now she has taken her final voyage to be with the Lord.
Mary was born in Deer Park, Ireland on January 7, 1913. She and her mother returned to Cape Town, South Africa where she was raised. Mary was a nurse in WWII in the Middle East and Italy with the South African Forces. She and our father, William, were married in Cairo, Egypt in 1942. They immigrated to Ontario in 1951. After many moves, Mary settled in her beloved Oak Bay in 1996 and stayed there until her death.
Predeceased by her husband, William, in 1983, Mary leaves her two daughters, Maureen (Liane); Patricia (Mike); her son Keith (Joel); her grandson Lee (Jade); her granddaughter Brandi (James); and her five great grandchildren.
Special thanks to Elizabeth DeArmond, whom the family considers Mary’s angel on earth, and all the wonderful staff, especially on Maple 2, at Oak Bay Lodge.
We will miss you, Mom.
