PICKARD (nee Wade) – Matilda (Tillie) Mary was born in Woodstock, Ontario, Nov. 24, 1923 and died peacefully in Victoria on June 29, 2010. Predeceased by her husband, Guy in 2003. Her family lovingly remembers Tillie: daughters Judith (Doug), Carole (George); grandchildren Adam (Janine), Jillian (Chad), Haley, Liam; great grandson Carson; sister Ann. Tillie dedicated her life to family and community, generously devoting time to the Vic West and Esquimalt United Churches, school events and neighbourhood parties. She was versatile, friendly, creative and willingly took on leadership roles for sports and clubs, especially enjoying her years with the “Flying Y” Track Club. Thoughtful beyond measure, Tillie lent a hand in any situation, embraced responsibility with enthusiasm and we remember her for her “can do” attitude. We celebrate Tillie’s life at McCall’s Floral Chapel, Vancouver & Johnson Streets, this Sat., July 10, 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the McCall’s Family Centre. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Gorge Waterway Action Society, PO Box 44164, 2947 Tillicum Road, Victoria BC, V9A 2A0, Canada.

I know there isn’t anything to say but I’m so sorry for your loss. I know how much Tillie meant to her family, and how much family meant to her. I wish I could have come down for the service. I’m glad Dad, Charlie & Sheila & Sue were able to send our condolences to you. Thinking of you,

    Bev & Kev
