Alex passed away on Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria. Born on February 14, 1926 in Saskatchewan, he served with the Canadian Army overseas in World War II, most notably in “sunny Italy”. He met his wife to be, Margaret Lucy Keeble in the army and they were married on January 2, 1946. After the war, Mum and Dad moved to Victoria, where they had four children, Lexi (Nils), Joe, Bob (Irene) and Kathy. Dad loved life and always found a way to have fun with people wherever he went. Predeceased by Lucy and most of his own family; he leaves his four children and one brother, Zenon (Diane) in Saskatchewan.

A Celebration of Alex’s life will be held in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson & Vancouver Streets, on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 1:00 pm with interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park. The family would like to thank the staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital for their kindness and compassion during a difficult time.

    Dear Bob and Irene:
I’m so sorry Bob to read of your Dad’s passing. Although I didn’t know him I do know that he raised a very fine man who married a super woman and together they really enriched Mark’s short life. May you be peaceful about your Dad’s passing and may you know that Mark would be there if he could. Unfortunately I won’t be able to attend the funeral. Rob, Maia and I send you loving thoughts.
