It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved brother, Michael. His passing was sudden and far too soon, leaving us at the age of 59. Michael was predeceased by his parents; Isabella in 1997 and Smile in 2017. He is survived by his sisters Fran (Joe predeceased 1996), Isabella (Bob). He was a kind and caring Uncle to; Doug, Darren, Cynthia (Chris), Sarah (Oscar), Matthew (Marianne); great-uncle to, Zac, Jordan, Josh, Joe, Emma, Keira, Mason and great-great-uncle to Owen. He will be missed by many other relatives and friends. Michael was born in Victoria and called it home for his entire life. His family was of paramount importance to him. His ability to make others feel special was a gift well learned from his parents. Like his father, he was a humble and quiet man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, his sports teams, music, travel, poker to name just a few. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church, 877 N. Park St, Victoria, on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael’s name to the BC SPCA, https://spca.bc.ca/locations/victoria, or to a charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I will miss Mike. He was a very good neighbour with thoughtful things to say. He was a kind and gentle soul who thought of others.. I will miss our chats about Coronnation Street, his stories of the trips he took with the Cory group and reminiscing about his parents.. COVID times were lonely for Mike.because he missed the people he would see in his weekly routine, like going to play music bingo and the more extravagant things like going on Cory trips. I will think of you when ever I have a coke or those chips you loved so much.
    Rest in peace Mike. ❤️

To the family I wish you healed hearts and laughter in amoungst the tears, as you recall the Mike memories you all share. Bless you all!

We were next door neighbours since 1995. Had many a
chat over the fence, bonded over Corrie and had some great laughs. I treasure the pen Mike brought back from Highclere Castle. Felt like Fernwood royalty. Mike’s kindness knew no bounds. He baked us cookies at Christmas one year before his surprise visit to see family in Alberta. Big and generous laughs are what I will remember the most. Rest well my friend.

To Michael’s family, dear friends and especially his Coronation Street friends across Canada. I am sending you all my sincere condolences. I had the personal pleasure in meeting Michael in 2012 during our 1st Coronation Street Tour in Manchester. During that time, the fascination with our beloved Corrie, built a foundation of a friendship that lasted since. Michael, myself and many others from Corrie Canadian group, kept in touch via Facebook messages, comments and supported each other with the trials and triumphs of life. Whenever he posted his comments, or pictures, I always felt his reach of kindness, good sense of humour and caring. Michael, may the angels in heaven, keep you well and we here, will always remember you.

I met Michael on a Coronation Street trip in England in 2012 and saw him again on another Coronation Trip in 2014 in England. Michael was the consummate Coronation Street fan. Our Corrie group were looking forward to seeing Michael again in 2022. We will carry his love of Corrie with us. Your CanCor friends will miss you. Heaven has gained a special angel.

The good part, is too kept hearing about Mike. I feel like I know him for years, but the sad part is that he has passed to early…
I would of love to get to know him but this was so sudden. Took all of us off guard. What I can do is to ask God to make sure that Mike find peace and that he finally look over his two sisters that miss him so much and help them finding ways to realize that he is relieved from all the silent pain that he went through over the last few years…
