
On October 30th, 2012, Minnie Mason(nee Burkill) peacefully passed away at the age of 96 years. Bobbie was predeceased by her husband Victor, brother Arthur and sister Connie. She is survived by her son Simon and his wife Ellen, her granddaughters,Nicole (Mike) and Michelle (Brad) and her great grandchildren Mason, Nixon, Kayley and Mackenzie. Minnie was born in Birmingham, England during WWI on July 8th, 1916, served in WWII, and immigrated to Edmonton with her husband and son in 1957, where she lived and worked for the Federal Government. Minnie retired in 1981 and wanting to be closer to the sea, moved to Victoria in 1996, which is where she and Victor will reunite. Bobbie enjoyed life to the fullest, served her country, loved her family and drove till she was over 90. She found it difficult to be self-sufficient after the death of her husband and moved to Kamloops to be close to her son. While in Kamloops she resided and was provided with loving and compassionate care at Berwick on the Park, Ponderosa and Kamloops Seniors Village.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Sequoia Gardens Memorial, 4665 Falaise Drive in Victoria with interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park with a reception to follow back at Sequoia Gardens. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
