    Hello,

My name is Nadia Cornejo, and along with my family we used to go to Our Lady Queen of Peace for many years and would sit next to Lucy and Kurt. Even though, I have moved parishes, our family always remembered Lucy and Kurt with many fond memories. I always loved Lucy’s love, tenderness and care. She always greeted us with a smile and asked how we were doing. She was also a fighter and such a witness of strong faith.

I will miss her the next time I go to Our Lady Queen of Peace but will hold her memories close to my heart. I am sorry I missed your funeral service.

She is now with God our Father and all her loved ones.

Lucy, you were very blessed and I am so thankful I met you.

Our prayers are with all of Lucy’s family.

    Vinia, Nadia and Justo Cornejo

Our thoughts are with Lucy’s family. Lucy was our neighbour for over 40 years. She was one of the first residents that welcomed us to our home across the street in 1973. Lucy took an interest in the lives of our 3 sons, always asking ‘how are they doing, what sports are they playing now? She was always kind, sweet and cheery…and our boys enjoyed her cookies !
We know she will be missed. Great memories last forever.

DearLucy, Sleep in peace in God’s hands. Lots of great memories we talked about whenever you visited your son David in Reno. Your love will be always in my heart.

    Love, Barry

On behalf of Charles and I, please accept our profound condolences at the loss of your mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to many. My association to Lucy goes back so many years that in fact she became like a second mother, taking me in as an immigrant so many years ago. I am sorry that ill health prevents me from attending the service but Lucy and all of you will forever be in my heart. Requiescat in pace, et coram Christo Jesu Redemptor tuus. May your well earned rest be in the presence of Christ.
    Turi and Charles

    To All of Lucy’s Family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Mother-Lucy. She was a joy to have as a friend and I will miss her dearly. It is hard to lose a parent, but I know she was not only a wonderful Mother but a wonderful friend. I will never forget her and have wonderful memories.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Our sympathy to all of Auntie Lucy’s family. She was such a kind and caring lady and we have many fond memories of our visits with her over the years. We were so happy to be able to visit her last summer along with mom and my sister.

Mom (her sister Mabel) said this after their visit together. “We had such a good visit. We talked about everything and everybody”!) I’m sure 2 sisters who lived such a long life had many stories to share!

Thinking of you all. Love Dianne and Dave

  • Elkington's

Auntie Lucy was a queen among women. A true inspiration to family members as she continued to contribute to her church community and family. She always brought her famous and much loved date squares. As a sister to Everett she was caring and kind to her little brother calling to check in often. He will miss those calls from his big sister. These kids are amazing and all cherished. From the Elkington’s we send much love to you all. Her special smile and sweet presence is already missed.

    To Lucy’s Family
My sympathies to all of you. Although I have not been in contact with Lucy for many years, I shall remember our younger, happier days as our grandchild was growing up. Many expressions of fondness was passed between us through Alissa or Cathy. Lucy was a kind, thoughtful, generous woman with a warm smile for everyone and I will not forget her.

    Hi Darlene

Just wanted to say how glad we were to know your Mom. We were the grateful recipients of many of her apple strudels both at your house and those she made for us, she was a kind lady to include us in her baking. Your friends were her friends. I know she will be missed by all her family and the people who knew and loved her.

    Dear Darlene

Many fond memories of Aunty Lucy.
I remember her getting up at 6 AM to make breakfast for my now wife and I back in 1997 when she let us stay with her while we visited Vancouver Island.
I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to introduce my 2 oldest boys to her 4 1/2 years ago.
She was truly the best type of person one could ever hope to know and have in their life.
