It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nick Ropchan on Friday, June 30, 2017.

He died peacefully at the age of 99 after a brief stay in the Victoria General Hospital.

He was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters.

He leaves behind his wife of almost 70 years, Mary (Paskoski) Ropchan; his daughter, Valerie (John) Kok; son, Jerry (Susan) Ropchan; 3 grandchildren, Josh (Michelle) Koke, Michael Kok, and Kiera Ropchan; 2 great grand-daughters, Quinn and Isla Koke; and two sisters, Marie Sheffler and Dorothy Thick as well as many other relatives and friends.

Nick was born on December 1, 1917 and raised in the Edmonton, Alberta area until he moved to Langford, BC in 2005.

Nick was a gentle man, a kind and giving spirit and will be missed.

A memorial service will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:00AM.
