It is with great sadness & sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Nola, from Victoria, B.C., on June 9, 2010. Nola will be deeply missed by her son Ryan, parents Nick & Joanne, sisters Rosy (Jim) Jefferson, Deb (Gary) Jefferson, Barbara (Domenic) Di Curzio, Cynthia (Gregg) Kenney, Cheryl (Gary) Kasianiuk, brother Nicholas (Caron) Zukowsky, eleven nieces & nephews and numerous family & friends. Nola graced our lives with her free-spirited manner. Her true loving essence will continue to influence us forever. A special thank you to the staff at the Victoria Royal Jubilee Hospital and Richmond Hospice. Cremation has taken place.
A gathering will be held on Friday, June 11, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Ogden Point, Victoria, BC. A Celebration of Life will be held in Edmonton, AB on June 19, 2010. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.victoriahospice.org.

To Nola’s family and friends
With shock and sadness I read the obituary for Nola in the Times Colonist. I had the opportunity and pleasure to know Nola when we worked together at University Hospital in Edmonton 20 some years ago. She was gentle, gracious, always keen to learn and do something new. Her free spirit and infectious humour were always welcomed when we caught ourselves taking work life at the “U” too seriously.
I do not recall having the opportunity to meet the young Ryan, but Nola spoke of you with such pride and affection and joy, it was obvious that you were already her best friend in the world.
It is painfully obvious that her life was too short. But may it help you all to know that I count among the many whose life has been enriched by having Nola in it.
