Passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord on July 23, 2012. Pearl was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 17, 1917 to Jim and Alice Taylor, the youngest of six children. In 1941, she married James Bryden and in1944 they had a son, Murray. In 1950, they moved to the West Coast and settled in Victoria, BC. Pearl was a faithful member of Victoria Gospel Chapel and Lambrick Park Church and for the last 13 years at The Church of the Nazarene, where she enjoyed the fellowship and support of the SHARPS Seniors Group. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Jim in 2009, Pearl will be lovingly remembered by her son, Murray and her “daughter” Jeanne; her grandchildren, Lisa, Chad (Elizabeth) and Craig (fiancée, Lindsay) and her two very special great-granddaughters, Avery and Peyton. Pearl will also be greatly missed by her sister, Mynne Gilmour. We are very grateful to the staff of Mt. Tolmie Hospital where Pearl lived for one year and to the staff at Broadmead Lodge where she has lived and received such wonderful care for the past 2 ½ years. We appreciate all of you. Pearl always enjoyed the calls, cards and visits of many friends and neighbours and we would like to express our thanks.

A Graveside Service will be held at Royal Oak Burial Park on Monday, July 30th, at 1:30 pm with Pastor Gary Bennett officiating, followed at 2:15 pm by a Celebration of Life and Tea at The Church of the Nazarene, 4277 Quadra Street. Donations can be made to Camp Imadene, PO Box 374, Mesachie Lake, BC. VOR 2N0 or The Church of the Nazarene. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Murray, Jeannie & Family and Minnie & family,

We are rejoicing with you today that Pearl is at last free from the bondage of her earthly body and happily at home with her Lord and her beloved Jim as well as her Mum and Dad, Lil and the rest of the family and friends.
You were so good to her and I am sure though you will miss the mum you knew, you would not wish her back. What peace we have when we know where she is now. Memories are such a comfort and she will not be forgotten for sure.
I always enjoyed my visits with her and Jim. They were so comfortable to be with and always a sense of humor.
Psalm 84:1 was a comfort to me when my mum passed on. may it be to you today.
    Jean (&Harvey)
