
Jones, Robert Arthur – peacefully on November 17, 2015, his daughters and Clare by his side. Predeceased by his first wife, Jean, in 2004; his son, Keith, in 2008; his parents; his two brothers, Percy and Stan. Survived by his devoted partner, Clare Hughes; loving daughters, Kerri-Ann and Karen (Jim); son, Kevin (Catherine); grandchildren, April, Elle, Remy, Chris, Katie, Sarah; nieces, Beverly (Darrell), Janet (Al); nephews, John and Neil. Also survived by Clare’s sons and their family. Born on August 17, 1925 in County Durham , UK. Bob attended Bede Collegiate for Boys in Sunderland. He trained as an Instrument Maker at R.A.F. Halton, the 45th Entry, transferring to Aircrew and becoming a Pilot in 1948. He emigrated to Canada and while living in Ontario, Bob worked for Spartan Air Services as a bush pilot. In 1967, after moving his family to Victoria, BC, he continued in what would be a 30 + year career with the Canadian Coast Guard as a helicopter pilot. Bob did not slow down in his retirement years: he and Clare indulged in ballroom dancing and played Bridge with their many wonderful friends. He lived a full and happy 90 years and will be missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring for those wishing to share memories of “Jonesy”. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
