Jim – much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away after a brief but valiant struggle with cancer. His memory will live on in the hearts of Olivia, his cherished wife of fifty eight years, his beloved children (and their partners) Rozlynne (Graham), Steve, and Peter (Mette), his wonderful grandchildren Jerry, Jason and Jennifer, his loving brother Glen and sister-in-law Doreen, his adored cousins, nieces and nephews and all those who knew him as a friend, here and in places around the globe.
Jim or “Mitch” as he was sometimes called was born and bred in Vancouver, BC, and with Olivia and his three children lived in Burnaby and Coquitlam in the early years and in West Vancouver for the later majority of his life before moving to Victoria 3 years ago. He was extremely well read, well traveled and the kind of man that made friends easily and kept them for a lifetime.
The world had for a time a wise and wonderful man, a great inspiration and a true friend – he would not want to be remembered with sadness but with joy, full of the awe and wonder at life, and the memories of a long and wonderfully lived life. His family welcomes all those who knew him to join them in a celebration of his time with us on Saturday November 1st 2008 at McCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets.
