I grew up with all the Kennedys on grafton st. The Kennedy boys were always at our place and we all played outside Together. Russ was always such a nice guy Especially to me being the only girl on the street.
Even though we all went in different directions, I often thought about Russ and his family. Ran into him at hockey a few times as adults and mom saw him around town.
    My condolenses to you Jan

I will always remember Russell’s chesire “up to mischief smile”, and his run-deep laughs… he was such an easy going gentle soul who never asked for much from life. He always lite-up bright when his/our Ashley entered the room. The Kennedy’s family red; his quick wit and hilarious humor lives on through his gorgeous girl: Ashley Leisa…. he’ll be watching over her with a happy heart and a BIG smile. We’re really touched by the rally of Russell’s long-time friends… that is a tribute to a soul that deeply touched other life’s along his way. Tender thoughts are send to the Kennedy family and his especially-close friends – as they gather for Russell’s “send above”. With Love, (Ashley’s) Auntie Sherry & Uncle Jon Bates, Parksville

  • Elinor Whitney-Griffiths and family

We were so sad to hear of Russell’s passing. He was so young as were his siblings. I knew this good looking fellah through hockey, lacrosse and ball hockey. Our Gordie (who died at age 43) was on many teams with him as Jeff was with Kevin..
Please accept our sincere sympathy and our thoughts are with you. I truly believe we never lose the ones we love. They stay in our hearts forever.
