It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our Dad on June 1st, 2026.
Born November 6th, 1937, in Spresiano, Italy to Augusto and Angela. Dad met the love of his life – Elide in 1958. In 1960 he moved to Canada (Victoria) following his brothers Egidio and Arturo – for a better life.
In 1962 Mom joined him and they were married. He started AB Drywall; several years later, Barbon Construction and Barbon Development. In 1965 they welcomed their daughter Patrizia and in 1968, son Robert.
Dad was a proud, honest, hardworking man and a man of his word. He helped build and was a member of the Victoria Italian Assistance Centre, where he also served on council for many years.
To Dad, family was everything. He adored mom and his family and becoming a grandpa (Papa) was his greatest joy. He adored his 5 grandchildren, Clayton (Alexia), Josh, Kylan, Marea and Tory. Attending every hockey or soccer game and every dance recital. He was their biggest fan!
In the past few years, Dad looked forward to his daily visits with his brother-in-law Ugo. He will be deeply missed by our Mom of 64 years, who was always by his side, and cared for him, till the end, his children, his son in law Dave, daughter in law Deneen, his grandchildren, sister and brother in laws, many nieces and nephews (both here and in Italy) and many friends.

A Funeral service will be held on Friday June 19, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Sacred Heart Church, 4040 Nelthorpe St., Victoria, BC.
