It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Slavko Rudman. Slavko passed away peacefully in the presence of his devoted wife at the Victoria General Hospital on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the age of 74 years. Slavko will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mira; his children, Tania and Damir; son-in-law, Andjelko; grandchildren, Bella and Nika; and brothers, Ivan and Marko. He will also be fondly remembered by his numerous extended family and friends. Slavko was predeceased by his mother, Dragica, and his brother, Tinko.

Slavko was born in Budim, Vivodina, Croatia. He immigrated to Canada in 1973, returning to Croatia to marry his beloved wife, Mira, before settling permanently in Victoria in 1976. He worked in construction for many years prior to his retirement. Slavko took tremendous pride in his family and the Croatian community. He remained a faithful member of St. Leopold Mandic Parish, where he was a devoted and proud choir member. He loved to sing, go for walks, play the lottery, share coffee with friends, tend to his garden, and help anyone in need. Slavko was known for always being willing to lend a helping hand and for the warm smile he carried everywhere he went.

May you rest in peace in God’s garden as you join your loved family and friends who left before you. We love you, we miss you, and we’ll never forget you.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 1st at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Catholic Church.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the St. Leopold Mandic Church.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I was sad to hear about his passing…he is at peace and in a better place for sure…I remember Slavko from way back, when I was active playing soccer and drums for the Croatian/English music group and soccer team. I have been in many wedding parties in the past. Fond memories. He was always friendly to me, whenever our paths met. I grew up with the Croatian Community here in Victoria. Time passes ever so quickly. He will be missed.
    Rest in Peace Slavko
    Respect

Our Sincere Condolences to the family. I will never forget how we sang Cuj Nas Majko with Slavko at the hospital during his last days. He wasn’t capable of talking to us however he knew and sang the words to our church hymn which Slavko & I sang in the choir since 1976. Slavko you and your family have always been a special to us and we will miss you very much. Rest in Eternal Peace our Good Friend! God Bless you for everything!

We have such fond memories of our Dear Friend Slavko. As mentioned above he was a proud choir member of our church. I always loved to see Slavko at all of our choir practices since 1976 where he sang and praised God. As a matter of fact when we visited him in the hospital during his last days, he wasn’t able to talk but we sang together (Mira, Stjepan, Danny and myself) Cuj Nas Majko and he knew almost all of the words. Our deepest Condolences to Mira, Tania, Danny & family. Rest In Eternal Peace Our Good Friend
