    Dear Marni and family,

I was very saddened to hear the news of Tom’s passing. I had the honor to work with him as a referee for several years while I attended UVic. He had a great sense of humor and a fantastic work ethic. His involvement with minor hockey as a mentor and referee helped shape many youngsters into better, more responsible and self confident individuals. I was one of those people… I always skated a little bit harder when on the ice with Tom as he was truly an inspiration to us all. You have my deepest condolences and my thoughts are with you and your family.

    Best regards,

    Mickael

    Dear Marni & Family,

Deeply sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I only knew Tom a short while during his stay in Estevan. I enjoyed his engaging conversations that we shared about past major sporting events, Vancouver, the Canucks, facilities, and sports in general. We shared similar views and was really enjoying working with him, and was excited for the future. He will be missed.

    Marni,
I was very shocked and saddened to read about Tom’s passing.

It had been a few years since I worked with Tom at UVic but I shared many great laughs with him. i always appreciated his heart and passion for life and for his family. There wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t say something about the kids.

His passing is a huge loss for you and the kids and for everyone else who encountered him.

I wish for you peace that passes all understanding.

Your passing my friend brings me sadness and regret that I never got to see you recently before your passing. I’m grateful for the chat we had and I look forward to meeting your adorable boys and your incredibly strong wife on Sunday. A friend of mine read the following poem at his fathers service and I feel it just reminds us of how truly precious life is. Missing you (Hugs)

    Dear Marni,

I was deeply saddened to hear of Tom’s passing. It’s hard to find words to do justice to the pain you and the kids must be feeling right now. I hope you are surrounded by friends and family to help you through this difficult time.
Time flies by so fast — it seems like yesterday that you were hosting the hockey team for a BBQ at your house. I miss those days, and seeing Tom every week. He was a joy to be around. A very nice and earnest guy. He will be greatly missed by many I’m sure. I’m so sorry for your loss.

  • Kelvin Pillipow

    Dear Marni;
I’m at a loss for words, for although we only knew Tom for a short period of time he made a huge impression on everyone around him. I always looked forward to our frequent late night conversations, where we discussed many ‘scholarly’ issues. During this time, Tom would always came back to the topic of family and would speak highly of how you and the kids were doing. Without doubt, Tom would always look forward with a smile to your nightly call for you all meant the world to him.
    Our thoughts are with you,

    Kelvin Pillipow

  • Judy Pilloud

    Dear Marni
I am so sorry for your loss – Even though I only knew Tom for a very short time he made a big impression. I feel that he would have become a very instrumental part of our City team. He was a repected in his knowlege for the way the facility should run and his management skills to make it happen. Hold tight to your family as he often told stories about his sons – and missed them greatly while working in Estevan.
    My prayers are with you.

    Judy Pilloud
