Born on September 9, 1933 in Casacalenda, province of Campobasso, Italy, Vince immigrated to Canada in July 1953, taking residence in Victoria, BC. He passed away on July 9, 2011 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital after a long illness. Vince was surrounded by his surviving sisters, Evelina Grosso (Joseph) and Oriana Maiorano (Jack Trotti) who cared and loved him up to the last minute. Vince, besides his two sisters, leaves behind a huge family residing in various parts of Canada – Vancouver, Duncan, and Montreal. Vince was predeceased by his father, Francesco who died in Italy (1967); brother, Pat (1999); and mother, Maria (August 2003).
A Funeral Service will be held at McCALL BROS. FAMILY CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets, on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 11:00 am with a reception in McCall’s Family Centre. Entombment will follow at the Royal Oak Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #107 – 1001 Cloverdale Avenue, Victoria, BC V8X 4C9.
