BOYES, Walter, D.F.C., B.A., M.Ed.

Born on March 24, 1919 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. Died September 15, 2008 at Victoria General Hospital. Survived by his loving wife of 65 years; Muriel and three daughters, Bonita Aldous (James), Patricia Boyes and Susan Graham (George Birch); 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ann Parker (Bill) and numerous relatives in Yorkshire. For six years Walter was with the RAF serving in Bomber Command, Instruction and Transport. He was a teacher and principal in Victoria School District 61 for 37 years. He enjoyed soccer, cricket, sailing and golf and latterly enjoyed the Windsor Park Art Group.

A Celebration of Walter’s Life will be held at MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson & Vancouver Streets on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 10:30 am. Special thanks to the nurses at 4A Victoria General Hospital. Grateful thanks to our friends and family for their help and consideration during his hospitalization. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to charity of your choice.
