It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Wayne Wilkins. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Rose, children Nicole (Larry) and Blaine (Kelli), and grand-daughters, Sylvie and Lochlyn. He was predeceased by his mother, Ellen, and father, John from North Battleford, Sask.
As a result of his hard-working nature and drive, he became the youngest commercial realtor in Saskatoon, then had a successful career in real estate and development in Kamloops. As a family with him at the helm, we customized and built 4 beautiful family homes.
In retirement, he loved lake life and boating at Shuswap and in the fruit/wine country of the Okanagan. Sharing these special experiences with friends and family was a highlight. He was always fond of classic cars and the beauties he once drove. Having moved to Victoria 5 years prior, he enjoyed time with family and many friends old and new.
To avoid the school of “hard knocks,” he sent both of his kids to University and supported them through their careers and adult lives. Rose and Wayne had a lovely life of togetherness, travel and endless renovation projects and their love was an inspiration.
We thank him for his unwavering love and devotion to his family, wisdom, countless life lessons and incredible life experiences. He will be forever in our hearts and minds. Thank you to all who touched his life as you meant so much to him. Thank you also to the Doctors at the Cancer Clinic and home Palliative care teams.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Marilyn & Frank Warning Dear Rose, Nicole (Larry), Blaine (Kelli) & family:
Although very saddened by the news, we are grateful that Wayne is finally at peace after his very lengthy and courageous struggle. Your unwavering love and devotion to his care Rose, accompanied by the faithful support and love of Nicole and Blaine and families, enabled Wayne to enjoy his lovely home and comforts to the end – an impressive show of strong family love and strength.
We will dearly miss my favorite cousin in so many ways – his kind and always welcoming manner, his mischievous and infectious grin, usually accompanied by his great sense of humor, entertaining stories and words of wisdom. We feel lucky to have shared so many happy times with you all over the years. Exchanging travel experiences was always a highlight, and it was wonderful that you two were able to squeeze in a few more cruises between remissions.
Wayne leaves behind so many wonderful memories – he will always live on in our hearts. May the many beautiful and cherished memories you’ve gathered through the years provide a source of strength and comfort for you all at this difficult time, and somehow soften the sorrow that you bear.
With love, concern and deepest sympathy – Marilyn & Frank (Warning), Calgary

John and Donna de Haan While we met Wayne and Rose only when we moved to Swallow’s Landing 3 years ago, it was obvious why Wayne was so highly regarded by his neighbours. His warmth and wit and charm never failed to shine, even as illness overtook him. He leaves a very empty chair at our Tuesday coffee gathering.

Our deepest condolences on the passing of Wayne. The limited time we spent with both of you was enjoyable and gave the feeling that our friendship had been much longer. The fact that Wayne and you, Rose, willingly shared your daughters love with us. Our prayers are with Wayne and his family Rose Nicole and Blaine.
