February 6, 1930 to June 21, 2008

On June 21st, Wilfred passed away peacefully at The Kiwanis Pavilion in Victoria with his wife of 51 years, Mary, at his side. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by Mary, sons Derrick (Rosenne) and Russell (Sally), grandchildren Marlise, Tanis, Ryan, Devon and Madelyn, step-mother Yuen Yee, brothers George (Lillian), Gilbert (Dorothy), James (Bev), Paul (May), Alfred, William (Gerry), sisters Noreen and Loretta (Ken), and many nieces and nephews.

Wilfred was born and raised in Victoria, BC. He worked many years at Canadian Freightways until he retired in 1990. Wilfred and Mary traveled and cruised to many places around the world. Wilfred was an avid golfer and member of Gorge Vale. He loved to fish and spend time in his garden growing vegetables for friends and family.

The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Mawdsley and the staff at The Kiwanis Pavilion for their kindness, care and support.

Friends may pay their respects at McCall Bros. Funeral Home on Thursday, June 26th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be conducted from MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets on Friday, June 27th at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at Royal Oak Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Oak Bay Kiwanis Pavilion Foundation 3034 Cedar Hill Road, Victoria BC V8T 3J3.
