  • Kathleen Paulin

    Dear Mary & family,

My name is Cathy Jansen, and I am writing on behalf of my aunt, Kathleen Paulin, as she does not have access to a computer.

Please accept Kathleen’s condolences, and her sincerest apology that she was unable to attend Bill’s funeral. As you know, Kathleen is unable to drive now, and had arranged to be driven to the funeral by a friend. Unfortunately, Kathleen’s friend became ill at the last moment and was unable to provide Kathleen with a ride to the church. There was much confusion over the arrangements, but the bottom line is that Kathleen was unable to make any new arrangements for transportation to and from the funeral. Please accept her apolgy, and understand that Kathleen truly wished to be there with you. I think we can safely say that she was with you in spirit.

We are all truly sorry for your loss, and hope that you find comfort in family and friends at this difficult time.

    Regards,

    Cathy (for Kathleen Paulin)

    Dear Mary & Family:

Just a brief note to say how sorry I am at Bill’s passing. He was a good friend, a great musician, full of fun, wisdom and jokes. He was also very well spoken and I enjoyed his talks at lodge. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

    Dear Mary & family,

I have so many fond memories of Bill from both Lodge and Church – the funniest of which was his participation in the “Apron Debate” with Bob Stewart.

I always remember his wit and humour and that twinkle in his eye. He had a unique way of getting his point across or getting you to look at something from another perspective.

Above all, I will remember him as a man of the highest integrity. He will be missed by many.

    Rob Heppell

Thinking of you and your family with deepest sympathy

  • Beth Arnold

A poem in memory of a very special and jovial man.
God looked around the garden and found an empty space. He looked down to earth and saw your tired face. He knew that you were weary, and He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never be well on earth again. He put his arm around you, and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful for He only takes the best. He saw the roads were getting rough and the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered “Peace be Thine”.

Much love and hugs for you all from Beth and Gary Arnold
