It is with great sadness, we announce the death of William Gordon Hammond, born on June 20, 1944 in Wabana, Bell Isle, NFLD. Bill passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 3, 2013 at VGH.

A family service will be held at Royal Oak Burial Park on October 5th, 2013 at 12 p.m.

A celebration of Billy’s life will be held on October 5th at 2 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #172, 622 Admirals Road.

    My memories of Bill while working for the Victoria Gas Department were of a man that did his job to the best of his ability and with a smile on his face.
    He was a member of a great crew that at times worked under very difficult circumstances. Thank you Bill and rest in peace.

    We are sorry to hear of Senior’s passing. Graham and I have so many great memories of Bill. He was always there with a big smile and cheerful hello. Playing darts at the Fernwood, many great ball tournaments and dances and of course his rendition of Danny boy. Cherish the memories and know Sr will always be with you.
