    Paul and Todd and family:

Very seldom in our lives are we so very fortunate to meet and share stories with such a true gentleman and sincere friend as was your Grandpa Bill McColl. Bill represented all that is good and respectful of our fellow man better than anyone I have had the pleasure to meet. He truly loved your mother and provided the family foundation you now enjoy with your loving family
I feel very honored to have shared special times with him.

    Love always – Doug.

    Dear Todd and Paul,
I was so sad to hear of your grandfather’s passing. I feel like it was a member of my own family. I will always remember the wonderful times we had with Betty and Bill and your whole family – especially at Deep Cove and especially at Christmas. It brings a tear to my eye to think that I will never hear another Bill McColl story or joke. I will be thinking of you tomorrow at 1:00pm. Take care and much love.

Paul and Todd: Sad to hear of your grandfather’s passing. He created such a strong foundation and anchor for your family. You will certainly now carry that on for your families. It was wonderful to know and be friends with Bill, Betty and Susan and I will carry fond memories of all of them. Take good care Paul and Todd – big hugs for both of you.

Dear Todd and Paul and families,
We were so sad to hear of Bill’s death on our return from the Galapagos Islands and send our thoughts and wishes to all of you.

We were greatly gifted to have come to know Bill during the last 8 years and come away from that friendship with wonderful memories of his kindness, humanity, good cheer and affection.

We are very sorry that we are so far away and will not be able to attend Bill’s service this Saturday. But we will be thinking of all of you and of Bill and will be there in spirit, as we are sure Bill will also.

I was so sad to hear of Bill’s illness and passing. As great friends (Bill & Betty) to my parents, Gil & Betsy, I’ve known Bill all of my life. Our families shared several seasonal traditions, as I grew up, including Christmas tree hunting, Christmas day visits and annual stays with us in Lac La Hache. I admired how Bill always showed interest in what others (young and old) had to say as well as his amazing gift for telling a story or joke. The story of “the Wide Mouthed Frog” comes to mind and still puts a smile on my face. He will be greatly missed but always remembered.

Saddened to hear of Bill’s passing.
He was such a pleasant gentleman and an honour to know.
