Rhoda passed away peacefully on June 7, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon in January 2009 and daughter, Jane in October 2004. She is survived by her children, Paul (Peg) of Middleton, NS, Philip of Calgary, AB, David (Joanne) of Colwood, BC, Ruth Lundin (Bruce) of Port Alice, BC, Ralph of Victoria, BC and step-daughter Linda Kennedy (Tom) of Caledon, ON; sister Barb Ernst (Ed) of Nipawin, Saskatchewan and brother Harold Bird (Irene) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mom trained as a nurse before becoming a full time wife and mother.
There will be a private family service and cremation. In lieu of` flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Our hearts go out to you all. We will miss Rhoda’s beautiful smile and calm loving approach to everyone. She and Gordon were great generous friends of Habitat for Humanity Victoria and all of us involved.
We will make a memorial gift to Habitat in both of their names.

Ruth Marie Lundin Dear Mama, It was so hard to say goodbye as you embark on your next journey. Thank you for being you & for being Mama….if more people were like you, the world would be such a better place. You had such a deep faith in God & through Him you gave us much love & devotion. We’ll gather soon to have a formal fare thee well knowing you are out of pain & suffering. You can finally hug Janey & Daddy once again. Hardly seems like a year since you headed off to heaven Momma….Words cannot describe the emotions regarding this, but know that when times have been difficult we leaned faithfully on what you instilled in all of us kids & forged ahead. With the gardening season here I spend much time digging & creating little garden delights all the while thinking of you, Daddy, & Janey. (Janey’s “Magic Gardening Tools” have been put into action once again!!) There have been many visits with butterflys & birdies & deer….We all know it’s you bringing a sense of calm & tranquility to our days & guiding us from above & for that Thank you. You are so greatly missed Momma, but you had to go so as not to suffer anymore. Thank you for all you continue to do for all of us from above- you are our angel. It’s been a year of challenges & rewards -I know in my heart that you have been there all the way. Thank you Momma. I love you for always, give Daddy & Janey & Sandra hugs.
