Zamira grew up in a large loving Italian immigrant family and community. She graduated from the University of Regina, with a master’s degree in English and Literature. Zamira married in 2004 and later in 2014, she and Wayne moved to Victoria, BC. in need of a more temperate climate. She worked as a Communication Consultant for the Gov’t. of Saskatchewan and the Gov’t. of British Columbia and several other agencies.
Zamira’s talents and interests were never ending, fueled by her curiosity and continuous desire to grow, learn and improve. In addition to her exceptional skills in writing, she actively pursued the arts of painting, photography, floral design, furniture refurbishing, crafts and more. She won awards in photography and was published in home renovations magazine. Traveling, cooking and gardening were a passion. Zamira enjoyed boating and hiking with Wayne and their dogs. She reveled in the wonders and beauty of mother nature.
Zamira was intelligent, strong and resilient. Despite the many hardships she endured due to chronic illnesses since childhood, Zamira persevered. She did not hesitate to courageously speak out against the shortcomings of the medical industry, her treatment and the need for changes.
Zamira shared her many talents actively volunteering. Volunteering included channeling her experiences and knowledge for assisting people in advocating for their needs through written documents, such as resume writing, abuse and medical claims. Aldrin My heartfelt condolences to you, Wayne.
Zam was a remarkable presence, with an effortless ability to articulate the world through her lens. Resolute in discovering beauty and self-willed in facing life’s challenges, she always offered a model of fortitude and fearlessness. I find myself hoping I can lean on that spirit, even as today still feels profoundly unfair.
