Jean passed away at home in Victoria, BC on July 30, 2017. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Dennis Woodfield, in 2013.
Dennis and Jean lived in Ottawa for 32 years before moving to Victoria for retirement.
Many thanks to the staff at Amica Douglas House and Trillium Douglas Care for the support and care that was provided to Jean over the past several years. She will be greatly missed.
At Jean’s request, there will be no service.

Joan Braddock It was wonderful to have Jean as a special neighbour. We had the best of times together. Jean, Dennis, Tom and I. You were sadly missed when you went to Canada, but wonderful memories of holidays together both in Canada and the UK. A friendship that lasted a lifetime with such a kind and thoughtful friend.

Heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of Jean. I worked with Jean at the Ottawa Citizen and was a close and dear friend of Jean and Dennis for many years. I have so many fond memories of time spent with them in Ottawa and visits to Tillsonburgh and Victoria.
