April 30 1940 – 18 Nov 2012

Born in Colliers,C.B. Nfld.

It is with extreme sadness and shock that the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved Trudy. She is survived by Frank (her husband of 52 years) son Rick, daughter Debbie (Jim) Shawcross, grandsons Andrew, Lucas and Noah. She leaves behind her siblings Elizabeth, Anne, Marion and Patrick of Newfoundland and many other family and friends across Canada. She was an active member of the square dance clubs Rocking Squares, Ferris Wheelers and Promenaders. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and taking her dog Holly for walks. She never had a bad word to say about any one. She had a great sense of humour and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was loved by everyone she knew. We will miss her dearly.

A service will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace – Esquimalt, 851 Old Esquimalt Road, on Friday, November 23rd at 12:10 pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

    Uncle Frank,

I’m so sorry you lost Aunt Trudy. We all loved her – she was the most fun. Do you remember Louie/Louies. She loved that place and hollered out the car window, “Wait for us, Louie, Louie – we’re coming later.” Larry thought she was great and my boys, Craig and Johnny thought she was the nicest of all their aunts. God bless you sweet Uncle Frank and I pray for peace for you somehow, someway. Love, deb (Anita’s daughter)

I’m so sorry about this tragedy, you are in my thoughts and prayers. As one of my best friends for more than 55 years, I am broken hearted. I know you must be devastated Frank. I’ll always remember the antics we got up to together at the Nurses Residence at the Waterford Hospital in St. John’s NL all those years ago. She was always ready for a bit of fun and her laugh was infectious. Thank you both for being the Godparents of my son Perry. I will miss you forever my dear friend. Amy sends her best wishes to you Frank.

  • Murielle and Frank Kosar

Dear Frank, Debbie and Rick, we were very saddened to hear of Trudy’s passing.

Trudy was an exceptional person. She had great qualities and talents and her Newfoundland self depreciating manor endeared her to everyone she met. Her friends and family were blessed to enjoy these qualities. She enjoyed being kidded and we used to kid her a lot. Trudy was an exceptionally honest person who sought out the best in others. She was always jovial and fun to be around.

We will always have great memories of our family get-togethers.

    We will all miss her.

May all your memories keep her close to you at this time.

    Love
Frank and Murielle, Geoffrey, Marnie, Brooke and Noah, Michelle, Ryan, Avery and Eward
