April 30 1940 – 18 Nov 2012
Born in Colliers,C.B. Nfld.
It is with extreme sadness and shock that the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved Trudy. She is survived by Frank (her husband of 52 years) son Rick, daughter Debbie (Jim) Shawcross, grandsons Andrew, Lucas and Noah. She leaves behind her siblings Elizabeth, Anne, Marion and Patrick of Newfoundland and many other family and friends across Canada. She was an active member of the square dance clubs Rocking Squares, Ferris Wheelers and Promenaders. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and taking her dog Holly for walks. She never had a bad word to say about any one. She had a great sense of humour and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was loved by everyone she knew. We will miss her dearly.
A service will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace – Esquimalt, 851 Old Esquimalt Road, on Friday, November 23rd at 12:10 pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Dear Frank and family,
The Upper Island dancers and the Upper Vancouver Island Square and Round Dance Association would like to send their deepest condolences. What a shock it was to get news from Gillian about Trudy’s sudden passing. I am glad that I met her and had a nice little conversation and also square danced with you both. Our sympathy go out to you and family.

I am so saddened to hear of Trudy’s passing. Over the years of cleaning her teeth, I have been lucky enough to know her….have many good conversations with her…and so many laughs and giggles with her. I will miss her smile and her witty comments about coming to see me. She really was such a special person.
You will all miss her and keep your memories close at heart. Please take care of yourselves during this difficult time.
Very best of wishes to you.
