February 24, 1959 – December 20, 2012.
Born in Langley, BC., Bob leaves his loving supportive wife, Myrna; son, Jesse (Tasha); daughter, Ashley; stepson, Kobey; parents, Al and Ann Crawford; sisters, Cathy (Greg), Patti (Hank), Cindy, and their families. He also leaves behind good friends, Terry, Ron and the morning group at Tim Horton’s.
Bob was an extremely hard working talented guy that loved putting his master of all trades talent to good use by helping out all his friends and family. When he wasn’t falling trees, developing lots or building his kid’s house he could be found with a camera in hand chasing the cat, or Myrna on one of their amazing trips in a far off land. Bob was always a bushrat at heart. When he wasn’t working outdoors he could be found dirt biking, gold panning, hunting or camping in their mansion on wheels.
We lost someone so dear to us, that it is hard to imagine our lives without his presence. So it is said, “with great love comes great pain.” Bob still had so much he wanted to do and left us so suddenly…but he would say to us, “I am well.”
A celebration of Bob’s life will be at THE SHERATON HOTEL, 829 McCallum Rd., on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.

I heard that Bobby passed very shortly after it happened. I was sad. he passes through my mind all the time. I loved working with him. He was funny as heck. He drove the dump truck down at Rock BY Remediation Project nights and I drove it days. We had a “Monsters Inc” one-eyed character toy that he’d found, in the truck. He’d dress it up with a cap made of an old gravel ppit chit or something, and leave it on the dash and in the morning. I’d find it and change how it was dressed…and leave a note. We both had a good laugh every tiome we jumped in the truck, and we hardly saw each other. lol I worked at the Glen Lake weekends and always had breakfast with the morning crew of truck drivers (my other job). Discovered this McCalls thing by accident. I hope Myrna and family are doing well. I never met Myrna but always hoped she was okay. I thought the world of Bob. As many people did. Huge loss to everyone. And I still think of him often, and although his loss was sad, I still smile when he crosses my mind.
Myrna and family
I was shocked to hear of Bob’s passing. He has always been around the area and will really be missed as part of the atmosphere that makes a great neighborhood. It was Bob and Jody Walker that took down a lot of trees at our house on Jenkins Ave. and took them to the mill in Sooke to be made in to lumber. Bob was very young then (but then so was I) When we moved to Cobble Hill we had a tree that had to be limbed and guess who we called it wasn’t Ghostbuster’s, it was Bob. I know it was a shock to a lot of us because he always seemed so vibrant. I sure am glad you got in some good vacation’s after your retirement Myrna. That should give you some great memories. I would like to send sincere condolences to you and your family as we were unable to attend the service.
