It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter John Acton. Peter was born September 18, 1946 in London, England and passed away at his home unexpectedly on August 14, 2021 at the age of 74. Peter is survived by his beloved wife Brenda Acton, his children Keith (Rae), Debbie (Trevor), and Kate (Bob) along with two grandchildren Dryden and Devynn who often referred to or called Peter “Grumps”. Peter also left behind his two brothers John and Ray along with many extended relatives, and we can’t forget his beloved Fur companion and best mate, Woody! Peter and Brenda moved to Canada on February 6, 1980 with their three children. Peter had a great passion for his work and was highly respected by many colleagues and friends in the Engineering world, although his main love was for the water and sailing. Peter is predeceased by his parents Ken and Dorothy Acton.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Peter’s passing. He was an excellent engineer and a respected colleague over many years. An example to all of us in his professionalism and his calm manner. A gentleman. His dry humour was much appreciated. I will remember him fondly.
Brenda, I did not know of Peter’s passing. I am so very sorry for your loss. What a difficult time for you and your family. My deepest condolences. He will be greatly missed.
Sending so much love and hugs. Finding Peter brought so much joy into all our lives, especially my dads and it was wonderful to see how very happy it made him. No matter how far away we are always here. We are so blessed to have met you all and will treasure the wonderful times we spent with Peter.
Rest In Peace Peter. I will so miss receiving your emails and hearing all your news. Your memories will forever hold a place in all our hearts.

My condolences to Peter’s family. I had the great privilege of working with Peter when we moved to Vancouver over 10 years ago. Being a fellow Brit, I truly enjoyed his wit and banter. He was so well respected and will be deeply missed. My thoughts are with you all.
Peter was a great mentor, colleague, and friend. His guidance had a profound impact on many. He will be sadly missed. My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
