It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter John Acton. Peter was born September 18, 1946 in London, England and passed away at his home unexpectedly on August 14, 2021 at the age of 74. Peter is survived by his beloved wife Brenda Acton, his children Keith (Rae), Debbie (Trevor), and Kate (Bob) along with two grandchildren Dryden and Devynn who often referred to or called Peter “Grumps”. Peter also left behind his two brothers John and Ray along with many extended relatives, and we can’t forget his beloved Fur companion and best mate, Woody! Peter and Brenda moved to Canada on February 6, 1980 with their three children. Peter had a great passion for his work and was highly respected by many colleagues and friends in the Engineering world, although his main love was for the water and sailing. Peter is predeceased by his parents Ken and Dorothy Acton.
In lieu of flowers, donations are greatly appreciated to the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) https://rnli.org/support-us/give-money/donate or the SPCA https://spca.bc.ca/locations/victoria/.

I feel very fortunate to have known and worked with Peter. My thoughts with his family and friends, he will be deeply missed.
A mentor, a friend, and a gentleman in every sense. Peter kept us grounded and was a calming influence to us all. We share the same birthday so never forgotten …. I will miss our yearly call to wish each other birthday greetings.
So sad having to write this. We never knew that there was another Brother out there waiting to be found, but when we were together it was as though we had been together all our lives, and now to lose you leaves another hole in our lives. We will always remember you Peter. Going to miss you.
Rest In Peace.
Until we meet again.
Ray and Family.
My deepest sympathies to the Acton family as I am stunned by the news of Peter’s passing.
I worked with Peter for over 20 years and am so thankful for the time that I knew him.
Peter was a friend, colleague and mentor. He was a huge part of my employment history as I initially met Peter at Taylor Peach & Associates and then connected again at Westmar Consultants.
It was a true pleasure to work with Peter. He was a resource I knew I could go to as he always listened, and gave advice and assistance when it was needed.
Linda Lengthorn and family.
I was so sad when I heard the news of Peter’s sudden passing.
Although I only knew him for seven years when he joined our extended family I have lovely memories of a wonderful, kind, caring and happy man. He will be missed by us all.

Peter will be greatly missed. I had the pleasure of working with him for over 20 years, he was a fine gentleman and an excellent engineer. My thoughts are with the family at this time of sorrow.
I was saddened to hear of Peter’s sudden passing. During the years we worked together, Peter was always courteous, polite and respectful to his co-workers and his clients. He was the epitome of a perfect gentleman. My condolences to his family; may your fond memories of Peter bring comfort to you now.

It took so long to find you, only for the joy to be snatched away after too short a time.
Rest in peace my dear brother, our memories will last forever.
With love from John, Rita, Jonathan, Gaynor, Isabelle and Kieran
Thinking of you all at this very sad time. We wish we could be with you but we send you lots of love and hugs and know that together as a close, strong family you will find the strength together to come to terms with the loss of Peter who we know was a wonderful husband, dad and grandad xxx
