My dear mom passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, at Glenwarren Lodge in Victoria, BC after a very long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on January 28, 1934, in Melgaço, Portugal. Aida came to Canada in 1963 with her husband, Amadeu Vidal, who she loved dearly and was always by his side for his entire life. She will be lovingly remembered by her son and the countless friends she made over the years. Aida is survived by her son, Jose (Joe) Vidal and two nieces in Portugal, Cristina and Elisabete Domingues. The family would like to thank Glenwarren Lodge and Dr. Egan for their respectful care and support.
A private service will be held for immediate family only in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens followed by entombment at Royal Oak Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an organization of your choice. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

We were deeply saddened to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was a dear and long cherished friend of our family, and her loss is felt profoundly.
Aida had remarkable presence- a truly big personality filled with warmth, kindness, generosity and a quiet strength. She gave freely of herself, always thinking of others, and faced life with resilience and grace.
