April 23, 1929 – October 20, 2012

Alexander (Sandy) left us to travel to another world about 3:00 am on Saturday morning, October 20th with his loving wife, Kathy (Rosa) by his side.

He was born on April 23, 1929 in Leigh-on-Sea Essex, England. After arriving in Canada, he became involved with the UBC Civil Engineers in 1949 and worked as a civil and provincial engineer which kept him on the move. Sandy and Kathy were married in 1955 and that same year, he joined Toastmasters, eventually becoming a member of the International Board of Directors from 1966 -1968 and remained a member for the rest of his life. Sandy was also a member of a Sai Baba group as well as many other interests such as The UBC Engineer Alumni Assn and the Board of the BCAA. He will be missed by many dear and faithful friends to name a few: the Saunders family, the Hoppe family (Peter, Kellie and Shyann), Robert O’Connor and all his family in the old Country and Rev. Laura Kavanagh and friends in Knox Presbyterian Church. I, Kathy (Rosa) would like to say thank you for all the support and good deeds you have done for Sandy and myself. God Bless.

No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice in Sandy’s name would be appreciated. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

My deepest sympathies to your family at this time of loss. I know I will surely miss him dearly. It just won’t be the same coming to Mom & Dad’s (formerly Grandma’s) house knowing he’s not there. Love you Kathy.
