February 12, 1925 – May 12, 2013
Beautiful and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on May 12, 2013. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Anna Wangsness, sister Bernice, and brother Walter. Lovingly remembered by her husband Bruce, daughter Sharyle, granddaughter Willow, sister Irene (Emil Nelson), brother Winton (Jean) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
An angel came to stay awhile.
She shared with us her angel smile.
She taught us in her loving way
How to laugh and how to play.
We did not know her angel wing
Would take her to where the angels sing
And yet we know it’s where she should be
If she cannot be with you and me.
What she has left is her love to share,
Her angel touch, her angel care.
She came to earth and stayed awhile
And shared with us her angel smile.
Many thanks to the wonderful home care nurses, case managers and staff at the Esquimalt/Westshore Health Unit for their personal and professional support and many thanks over the years to the community health care workers from Beacon Community Services, Sidney Senior Care and Bayshore. Heartfelt gratitude to Mary Sapong for her loving care and assistance to us in keeping Mom at home.
After a family graveside service, we would welcome you to our family home for a tea and refreshments and sharing of memories on Friday, May 17th, 2013, from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Patricia Wheadon Sharyle,
I will forever remember our visit to Kelowna just after your parents moved there, and sleeping on the upstairs balcony! Your Mom was so gracious. May all your happy memories ease the pain during this difficult time.

Gail Sykes Hi Sharyle,
Sorry to hear about your mom. I know this is a difficult time for you and your dad right now, and just want you to know that you are in my thoughts.
Take care.
Bruce, Sharyle & Willow
We have been neighbours and friends for the past 23 years and knew Alice to be such a gentle & kind Lady.
We feel so sad that she has died but know that she is now at peace.
Our thoughts are with you all.
