September 4th, 1946 – December 1st, 2012
Allen passed away suddenly at his home in Victoria, British Columbia, on the 1st of December 2012. Born in Gallup, New Mexico, to Leone and Allen Rollie Sr., Allen is survived by his loving wife Margaret Bell, his children Matthew and Adrienne Rollie, his sisters Arlene High and Karen Head, his mother-in-law Jean Bell, and a large contingent of extended family and friends. After raising his family and practising psychology in Kingston, Ontario, Allen and his wife Meg retired to British Columbia, where they split their time between Victoria and Pender Island. He had a passion for art, music, and photography, and found the West Coast to be the perfect place to pursue those loves. Allen was a wonderful cook, who loved to entertain, and celebrate life with his many close friends. He touched the lives of so many people from many different walks of life, and will be sorely missed by all.
Visitation will be held at McCall Bros, Johnson at Vancouver St. (250-385-4465), on Wednesday, December 12th between 6:30 and 8:30. Funeral Service will be celebrated at McCall Bros, on Thursday, December 13th at 2:00pm, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Stephen Lewis Foundation, or The Mustard Seed Food Bank in Victoria.

The Wein Family We are so saddened to hear of Allen’s death. He was such a wonderful man and will be missed by all the Islanders. I knew Allen through the store and he was a real pleasure to have as a customer. My parents on the other hand, really enjoyed getting to know the two of you and were very shocked and deeply saddened by the news. Please let us know if there is anything we can do.

Susan O'Dell Dear Meg and Family;
I was so sorry to hear about Allen’s sudden death. What a terrible shock for the family.
So many wonderful get-togethers at Nelson Street came to mind!!!
Please know you are in the minds and hearts of many Kingstonians!!
Take good care
Susan
Dear Meg:
How very sad you must be. I was sorry to hear of Allen’s sudden passing. I am sure he enjoyed your ‘short’ time on the west coast together. The Obituary in the Whig Standard was well written and from what I knew of him was perfect. Valerie McCready heard about it from a friend on Nelson St., who had seen in it the Whig Standard. I didn’t, but I researched the Whig’s Obituaries and found it. I then went on the research the Funeral Director’s In Victoria and found it on the second try.
Bless you and your family. I will be thinking about you all.
Freda
