64 Years
Surrounded by her loving family and with her favorite song playing, Ambriss Margaret Clermont slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus. Early Wednesday morning February 29, 2012 marked the end of her valiant battle with cancer.
Ambriss was predeceased by her parents Martin and Virginia Reid.
She is survived by Michael, her loving husband of 43 years and her four children Martin (Shalene), Lorree (Mike) Brown, John (Erin) and Kimberly (Calvin) Ewer and her grandchildren Faith, Ethan, Mia, Graham, Olivia, Lily and Sawyer, to whom she was completely devoted. Ambriss is also survived by her loving and supportive brothers, John (Lorree) and Jeff (Annette) Reid and close cousin Bonnie Hays. Ambriss’ numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends were always in her thoughts.
Ambriss was born Dec. 26, 1947, raised in Calgary, Alberta and with her family moved to Edmonton in 1962. Ambriss and Michael were high school sweethearts, who married in 1968 and moved to Victoria in 1974.
Ambriss was co-owner, with Michael, in Russ Hays The Bicycle Shop. She was a happy, loving, effervescent wife, mother and nana. Her life’s vocation was the care and nurturing of her four children and seven grandchildren. Ambriss was active in their schools, her church and community. Her favorite memories were of times spent with family and friends at Shawnigan Lake. Ambriss had a strong steadfast faith in God and she trusted her life, family and future to the promise of Jesus Christ.
Special thanks to Doctors John Visioli, Peter Battershill, Valerie Cowan and the wonderful health care professionals and volunteers at Saanich Peninsula Palliative Care who supported us on Ambriss’ journey.
To Ambriss, our dear wife, mother and nana, as you said to us countless times:
“We will love you forever and always, to the moon and back!”

Sherri and I send our love and heart felt condolences to all of you. Mrs. C was an amazing lady, compassionate and with such a strong faith in God.
Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and the younger generation. For they are us, our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life.

John, Erin and Family of Ambriss,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this moment. We never had the chance to meet Ambriss, but from what you Erin have said and what Mike has said, she was a very special person.
Sounds like her wish for you all is that you keep her memory alive, especially by looking after her grandson.
All the best to you all at this painful and happy moment of passage.

I was so very sad and sorry to hear of Ambriss’ passing. Erin is my sister and we had many conversations on the phone talking about Ambriss and how she was doing. My first impression on meeting Ambriss was how warm and friendly she was. My thoughts are with you all in this difficult time and that you find some comfort in the memories you have of her.

We are so sad this day has come but we know that the beautiful spirit of Ambriss will live on in each and every one of you and give you comfort, strength and a soft place to land in this terribly difficult time. She is free now. She can be anywhere she wants to be and I believe part of heaven is being able to stay connected to those you love so much.
Mike, you and Ambriss built such a rewarding life together for your precious family and you will all have that always.
Even though you are far away from London you are very close in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. With Much Love, Gina and Andy
Ambriss was an amazing woman, I was honored to have known her.

Dear John & Erin,
We are with you in heart, mind and body. We share your pain – but know that your beloved Mum is suffering no longer. Matthew Arnold wrote this:
Is it so small a thing
to have enjoyed the sun,
to have lived light in Spring,
to have loved,
to have thought,
to have done?
May time, and most of all…your warm and happy memories, bring you healing and peace of mind. We are holding you close, with love, Jim & christine, St. Andrews, Newfoundland
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this difficult time. I remember your Mom very fondly and know how important her family was to her. I am proud to have gotten to share in her life when I was a child and I know she leaves behind so many fond memories of the amazing woman she was.
My deepest sympathies to the entire Clermont family! I have so many happy memories of Ambriss! Whenever I saw her she always had a smile and a hug for me. She was so much fun to be around! I got to spend a lot of time around your house when I was young and she always made me feel like family. I know how much you will all miss her! May God’s presence be strongly felt with each of you in the coming weeks!
Love Lisa (Bryden)
All my love and prayers to the Clermonts, Reids, Browns and Ewers. Heaven has gained what we have lost.
We would like to offer our deepest sympathies. Although we did not know Ambriss, we know she will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time – find comfort in each other.
