Amie left us tragically and suddenly after a very short, acute illness. Survived by her loving and devoted husband Tristan and their precious 14-month-old son, her pride and joy, Jordan.
Amie was predeceased by her mother Laura and leaves behind to grieve her dad and step-mom Frank and Jane Bourree, sisters Andrea (Dave), Vicki (Darrin), Jill, Lisa, Samantha, brother Tom (Pam), Mother and father-in-law Libby and Don Urquhart, sisters-in-law Sommer, Lesha and brother-in-law Marshall (Megan) Urquhart. Also, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention but all who were also so important to her.
Amie was a one of a kind, optimistic and cheerful person with an uncanny talent for turning lemons into lemonade. She had a huge heart and loved openly and totally. She loved to sing and cook, sharing both with everyone. She loved her dog Chi Chi, often walking him along Dallas Road.
She had recently returned to work at the Victoria Fire Department, a job she loved, after her maternity leave. She also spent many happy years working with the Victoria School District (Monterey Middle School / SD #61).
Amie, your star will shine forever bright. Your family, friends and colleagues will miss your warmth, enthusiasm and sense of humour. We will honour your spirit by loving harder, laughing louder, and treating each other with kindness.
The family wish to thank, from the bottom of our hearts, all the staff of The Royal Jubilee Hospital for their professionalism and care while looking after Amie. We also are deeply grateful for the kindness and words of support we have received from others.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, B.C.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I worked with Amie at Monterey Middle School and she always brought a huge smile and a wonderfully warm way of interacting with both students and staff. She touched many lives and she will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to Tristan, Jordan and her entire family.
Dear Frank, Jane and family, I am so sad that this happened. Amie was so much fun and had such enthusiasm for life. I am heartsick that their little boy will grow up without his mother. Frank, you are a great dad and I’m sure Amie knows how much you loved her. Jane, you embraced her like your own daughter. She was well loved and that’s all anyone can hope for. Hugs to everyone. Xo Mel
It just seems so wrong to lose someone this young and vibrant. I know your hearts must be broken and there are no ‘right words’ to make it hurt any less. Sending love and prayers to all of you at this very sad time.
Aim’s……I loved you so much. Will never forget you girl , I just discovered this by accident as I was looking up a friend. I have no words I am so so so sorry this world will miss your bright soul my friend rest in peace you beauty xoxo
I had known Amie since she was a little girl, I watched her grow up from a distance, she went from a pretty young girl, to a beautiful, caring young woman. Amie and I did not converse often, every now and again, but we were friends on Facebook, and we did talk. When her mom was ill Amie talked to me quite a bit about her mom and how she was handling it, my best advice to her was, your mom was there for you, now you need to be there for her. So although Amie is not with us anymore, I give the same advice to her family, be strong and courageous, as she was for her mom, she would want you to be there for each other, remember her with tears now, but eventually remember the good times too. My heart goes out to her sisters and brother, and father, and especially her husband Tristan and son. Stay strong. If there is anything I can do, I will….in loving memory of a pretty young woman..gone too soon
On behalf of all the members and staff at Destination Greater Victoria we extend our deepest condolences to Frank and his family for his tragic loss.

I never met Amie, but a co-worker of mine was her friend. I am heartbroken to know that she will be missed by so many. My greatest condolences to all her friends and family. May you find strength in each other.
My deepest condolences to Amie’s family. Amie and I were besties in Elementary School, back in the Northridge days. I will always remember singing and setting up concerts with her in her basement. It’s where I officially learned to lip sync. Amie you are a beautiful soul and heaven has a new Mariah in the house! Love xo -Melissa Louie
