Passed away on January 27, 2009 in Edmonton while surrounded by her family. She was born on July 26, 1929 in Selva di Trissino, Italy. She strived through difficult times during the war in Northern Italy and acquired a great strength that she carried throughout her whole life. She first met her husband, Silvio, on the front steps of the town hall in Trissino. They were later married in 1949. Anna immigrated to Canada in 1957 to create a wonderful new life in Victoria, BC for herself and her family. She spent many years working outside the home at the Glenshiel and was loved by many there. At home, she took pride in her garden and its abundance of fruits and vegetables. We will all miss her exceptional skills of preparing traditional Italian meals. Anna loved socializing with family and friends, playing cards, knitting and spent most of her retirement dedicated to lovingly caring for her husband. She taught her children and grandchildren great lessons of love; to have strength and endurance through all times. Anna was predeceased by her husband, Silvio in 2003 and is survived by her three children, Irma (Gerald), Rosetta (Dave) and Joe (Patti). She has eight grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Adrian, Lisa, Monica, Sergio, Hollie, Samantha, Marco and Alexandra. She also has four great-grandchildren, Emilie, Naomi, Ariana and Jacob. Surviving brothers and sisters in Italy are Teresina (Berto), Gianni (Rosetta) and Giulietta (Franco). Anna will be sadly missed by her family and friends who will lovingly remember her always. Ciao for now Mom/Nonna, we love you! “Anyway…”

  • Albert W. Lazenby

Our deepest sympathy goes out to you all at this time of great loss.

Although we had only known Anna a few short years, we came to know, respect and care for her deeply. On her many trips to Irma & Geralds we had the pleasure of visiting with them and sharing her love of cards. Our games brought joy and laughter to us all.

We will dearly miss her smile and company.

    Love
    Bill & Marilyn Lazenby

We are saddened by the passing of Nonna, she was a wonderful, strong and beautiful lady. So many could learn so much from her love of life and her true dedication to her family. We hold very fond memories of Nonna and will always cherish the special slippers that she knitted for us as well as her kind gifts that she thoughtfully gave to our grandchildren. Rest in Peace Nonna and know that you will always be remembered fondly and with great admiration. Suzann and Maurice Cromwell

  • Karen & Jered

our deepest sympathy to Nonna’s family she is so very sadly missed and the pain of losing your Nonna is unbearable.
She is now with Nonno dancing on the moon light and among the twinking stars.
You are in our thoughts and prayers, love Karen and Jered

    God looked around his garden
And He found an empty place.
And then He looked down upon the earth,
    And saw your tired face.

He put His arms around you,
    And lifted you to rest.
    God’s garden must be beautiful,
    He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain,
He knew that you would never
    Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyelids,
    And whispered”Peace be thine.”

It broke our hearts to lose you .
    But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

Ciao for now Mom/Nonna, we love you!
