It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Antonio.
He leaves behind his wife Rosa of 48 years, son Steven, son Christian-Rhian and three grandchildren that he adored; Jonah, Kaiden and his Princess Eliana. He also leaves three brothers and a sister and their families.
Antonio was born in Achadinha Sặo Miguel Azores Portugal. He immigrated to Canada in 1977 to marry the love of his life Rosa. They were devoted to each other for all those years.
Antonio was an honest hard-working man, a good provider for his family. He worked for many years as a stone mason. There wasn’t any style of stonework he couldn’t do. He was a professional artist. He built rock walls, patios, walkways, stairs, fireplaces, facades, and seating benches at golf courses. He had a pair of golden hands. One of the biggest jobs he has done was the walls at the McKenzie Ave and the Highway Bridge; please honk in his memory as you drive or pass by it.
Another Canucks Fan has turned the T.V. and radio off, he wouldn’t miss a game whether at home or away.
Our thanks extend to everyone involved in his care, from surgery, Cancer Clinic, O.B.G.H. Clinic, Emergency & Palliative Care, 8 South at Royal Jubilee Hospital, where he passed away, you were all a great team of professionals.
Please join us through these last steps as we say goodbye with heavy hearts, to Antonio and lay him to rest. The funeral service will be officiated by Father Eduardo Santos, at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 4635 Elk Lake Drive on Friday, April 25 at 10:00am.
Following we’ll lay Antonio to rest at the Royal Oak Burial Park at 4673 Falaise Drive at the Mausoleum Entombment.
